Do you approach other watch wearers in the wild, or are you hesitant to do so? We often see others wearing incredibly nice watches on their wrists, but we only comment on them once in a while. Lex remembers making a comment to someone wearing a full-gold Cartier Santos 100 with a very special strap. And RJ commented on someone’s Rolex, but that wasn’t well-received. But first, it’s time for the mandatory wrist check! Gerard is wearing his now-discontinued Grand Seiko SBGW235 on the original beads-of-rice bracelet, while Lex is still honeymooning his Omega Speedmaster ’57 “Replica” ref. 3594.50. RJ’s wearing his Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch 310.30.42.50.01.001 but using the separately purchased bracelet from the sapphire version.

Approaching watch wearers in the wild
And by “in the wild,” we don’t mean the people who wear nice watches during watch trade shows or specific watch get-togethers. No, we’re talking about the people you see wearing nice watches in restaurants or the airport lounge. Do you approach them to compliment them on their watches? Or is this something you consider “not done” in this day and age? We talk about our experiences talking to random strangers about their watches, which happens occasionally (except for Nacho).
